TCM is a unique, distinct and independent medical system that has been practised in China for more than 5000 years, long before Western medicine began. TCM treats the body as an integrated system and recognizes that energy levels can get out of balance, or organ function can underachieve or be overactive. It has developed over centuries, supported by a wealthy of clinical experience and deep understanding of the human body and how it works. In Western societies, it is often called alternative or complementary medicine but, for millions of people in China and other Asian counries, TCM is still a primary method of healthcare. TCM can certainly play an important role in restoring the normal functioning of the human body, essential for fighting disease and healing the body.
When you consult a TCM practitioner, you benefit from the wisdom of both TCM and Western Medicine. This is because, from the 16th century onwards, TCM integrated aspects of Western into its teaching. If you look at any TCM university's undergraduate program in China , you will clearly see that in the 5 years full time study, the students will be taught Normal Human Anatomy, Biochemistry ,Physiology, Pathology, Clinical Integrative Chinese & Western Medicine etc together with TCM courses. Consulting a TCM practitioner is not a question of turning your back on any advances in Western medicine or rejecting any Western advice because our TCM practitioner will undoubtedly use a combination of both traditions.
If you are considering Chinese Medicine or Acupuncture treatment, please come and visit us. We understand that every patient has different needs and wants. This is why we offer all new patients a free consultation to discuss treatment. If you are unsure whether TCM is right for you, please book your free consultation. I went to St Neots Chinese Medical Centre after my 1st embryo transfer failed. I had weekly acupuncture for a few months then my 2nd embryo transfer was successful. I continued my sessions throughout my 1st trimester which greatly helped my early pregnancy symptoms. I would highly recommend this clinic, especially to someone going through IVF.
I have always found the staff at the St Neots Chinese Medical Centre to be cautious and friendly. I have been undergoing treatment for frozen shoulder, which included Acupuncture and Acupressure. When I first visited the centre, I was suffering from a very painful left shoulder with limited movement. I undertook a thorough consultation where the treatment was explained in detail. I am now almost completely cured, which is amazing.
I have been coming to the clinic for my peripheral neuropathy. The pain has completely gone after my fifth treatment. This is really amazing. Highly recommended.
